Please register at reception and you will be escorted to your room.
TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION
The Hospital strives to accommodate all preferences for private or shared rooms. In the circumstance that your particular choice is unavailable at the time of admission, our staff will make every effort to move you to your preferred room as early as possible.
Telephones and Television
A television and telephone is installed at each bedside. You are able to make local and STD calls from this phone and your family and friends can call you directly.
On admission, you will be given your extension number. On discharge you are required to check with Reception to finalise your account.
Some health funds provide free local calls as part of their contract with the Hospital but STD calls need to be paid for. If you are admitted as a compensable patient, you will be required to pay for all calls made. There is a public phone located in the utility room within the reception area.
Should you require anything at anytime, please do not hesitate to call the nursing staff via the nurse call button located in the bedside handset. Our staff will endeavour to answer the call as quickly as possible.
Meals are designed to meet all dietary needs, and are cooked on site daily. Meals are served at your bedside or in the dining room at 7.30am, 12.30pm and 5.30pm. If you are able you are encouraged to enjoy the social benefits of having your meals served in the dining room.
Morning tea, afternoon tea and supper are served in your room. Tea and coffee making facilities are available at all times in the dining room.
Our diet aide will visit you daily to arrange your menu. If you have any particular dietary needs please let the admitting staff know.
Arrangements can be made for your relatives or friends to enjoy a meal with you at a small cost. Please let the diet aide know if you would like this service.
There are drink and snack food vending machines located throughout the hospital.
FOR YOUR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
Complimentary newspapers are available each day and will be delivered by staff to your room.
Minister of Religion
The Hospital is visited by members of various denominations each week. Please let the nurses or other staff know if you would like them to visit you.
Flowers and Mail
Flowers and mail are delivered directly to your room. If you have mail to post please contact the Reception staff and this will be arranged for you.
Queries about your care ~ Helping us care for you
If you have any concerns or queries about your care whilst you are a patient in our Hospital please bring them to our attention. The nurse in charge of your Ward will be able to answer questions and resolve problems related to your hospital care.

Patient feedback is appreciated, as it assists us to make ongoing improvements to our services and facilities. Please feel free to provide feedback either through the formal Patient Satisfaction Survey or by writing to the General Manager of the Hospital.
Smoking is not permitted within the Hospital.
Your needs in this area are best arranged with your family and friends. The hospital has a small laundry with a washing machine and dryer or for a small charge laundry services can be arranged with housekeeping staff.
If you are currently taking medication please bring these with you. All other medications required during your stay with us will be ordered by your doctor.
These medications will be provided by the pharmacist, who will bill you directly for any items not covered by your health fund. Please ensure that your Pharmacy account is settled on discharge. Payment can be left with the nursing staff for the Pharmacy to pick up.
A hairdresser visits the hospital weekly. Please let the staff know if you would like an appointment. You are responsible for paying the hairdresser direct.
A podiatrist also visits the hospital on a weekly basis. Please advise the nursing staff if you would like an appointment and payment is also direct to the podiatrist.
- For medical patients visiting hours are from 10.00am to 8.00pm daily
- For palliative care patients visiting hours are unrestricted.
- For rehabilitation patients visiting hours from 4.00pm to 8.00pm daily.
Visiting can be arranged at other times throughout the day for those on rehabilitation programs but must not interfere with patient therapy times. Please check therapy schedules with staff.
Limited parking is available in the hospital grounds. Parking is permitted on the street in front of the hospital.
